This 8-week course is designed to get students (13 and up) hands-on experience in set design and building for theatre. Starting with basic skills, students will build black boxes and set flats, learning construction techniques they can build on. Each session focuses on practical work, with ongoing discussions about design concepts and how to improve the look and functionality of a set.

Every class begins with a safety meeting on different topics, making sure safety is a top priority. By the end of the course, students will come together, vote on a final design, and build a set piece that will be featured in an upcoming show. Fast-paced, hands-on, and focused on real-world skills, this course will get students prepared for future work in theatre production.
